No injuries were reported from a multi-vehicle wreck that shutdown I-10 west of Beaumont
yesterday afternoon. DPS reports a tanker truck hauling sodium was heading eastbound when
several cars in front of the rig slammed on their brakes. To avoid a collision, the driver veered
to the left onto the median and struck a guardrail. The trailer was not impacted and there were no
leaks. The wreck forced both directions of the interstate to be closed.
