Kountze Students Lead Memorial

Texas students were largely absent from yesterday's national walkout against gun violence.  There were no reports of large responses in cities like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, mainly due to spring break.  However, hundreds of students at Waco and Midway high schools took part in the national protest.  They stood outside for 17 minutes yesterday in honor of the 17 victims killed last month at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.   However there was a different approach in Southeast Texas as more than 100 students at Kountze ISD prayed for those killed in acts of violence during a morning memorial service.  The memorial was led by students from Kountze High School's Christians in Action group.
