Multiple sources report Port Arthur has a leading candidate to become the city’s next chief
of police. Timothy Dursio, who spent two decades as an investigator with the Drug
Enforcement Administration, could be named the new chief this evening. Dursio, who would
replace Patrick Melvin who resigned in May, at one time was a patrol officer in Port Arthur.
Nearly 40 applicants were received for the position.
