A contractor that was convicted for defrauding the Beaumont Independent School District out ot
more than $2.5 million has been sentenced 180 days in jail by Judge John Stevens. Calvin
Walker will be allowed to serve his time on weekends. Following his conviction, he was placed
on 10 years probation. A restitution hearing will take place within the next 30 days. The defense
for Walker is appealing.
