Voluntary Evacuation, School Cancelled In Port Neches

Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick has issued a voluntary evacuation for the city of Port

Neches due to elevated levels of 1,3-Butadiene. The current levels do not pose a serious

health risk, but may cause dizziness, nausea, headaches, irritated eyes and throat. If you are

experiencing any of these symptoms you are asked to leave your location. A temporary shelter

has been set up at Ford Park. The Port Neches-Groves School District has cancelled school for

the remainder of the week
