The Beaumont Independent School District has sent out an update on a pilot program in which
metal detectors have been installed at West Brook High school. In a press release,
Superintendent Dr. Shannon Allen says the district although there have been some growing
pains, the districtis very pleased with the process. The metal detector pilot program will
continue through the rest of the semester and will be pilotedat other campuses intermittently.
