Lil Nas X Recruits Michael J. Fox To Announce New Song 'Holiday': Watch

Lil Nas X is returning with new music!

Christmas came early when the “Old Town Road” star announced his new single, “Holiday,” this Sunday (November 8). The song, which premieres this Friday (November 13), was teased in a 49-second promotional video that shows the country rapper transforming from his cowboy persona into Santa Claus.

The visual opens with Lil Nas X galloping into a Western town where he appears to be a wanted man. Then, when a drunken Santa Claus gets thrown out of a nearby bar, the 21-year-old decides to take his hat and transform into Kris Kringle himself before blasting off into another dimension with his reindeer and sleigh.

Albeit brief, Michael J. Fox also makes a surprising cameo in the teaser trailer. “Whatever you do, Nas, don’t go to 2020,” Fox warns in the closing scene, a playful quip sure to charm Back to the Future fans everywhere.

“It’s always a good time when you travel back to the past,” Fox tweeted, teasing, “Thrilled to be a part of this! Good luck in the future 😁 ⁦ @LilNasX.”

“Holiday” will mark Lil Nas X’s first single in almost two years, and signals the first effort to come from the Grammy winner’s new music era.

As fans know, the “Rodeo” pop star released his debut extended play, 7, in June 2019. The effort featured several of his greatest hits, including the record-breaking “Old Town Road (Remix)” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus and “Panini.”
