An autopsy has revealed that the death of a 65-year old LaBelle man was related to the below
freezing temperatures The body of Daniel Vester Phillips was found in his home on County
Lane on February 5th. Phillips died from hypothermia. There were signs of frostbite. Toxicology
results are pending. The death of Phillips is the only weather related death reported in Southeast
Texas.
