A Vidor man is jailed for evading, possession, and a parole warrant following a chase with
Vidor police Tuesday morning. Police attempted to stop a pickup on a traffic violation when
the driver, 32-year old Melvin Wedgeworth, sped off. The pursuit ended when Wedgeworth
drove off the road and into a fence line. 250 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine
and marijuana was found in the pickup. Wedgeworth was transported to the Orange County
Jail. His bonds total more than $91,000.
