Port Arthur Police are investigating an early morning shooting that resulted in one death. Around 1:15 officers were dispatched to 3249 18th St. in reference to a possible drive by shooting. Upon arrival officers learned that it was not a drive by shooting, but a male subject at the residence had been shot. Officers determined that two black males approached a Hispanic male at the rear of the residence and demanded money. Another Hispanic male came outside, and was also confronted. During the course of the incident, the second Hispanic male was struck with a pistol, and the first Hispanic male was shot while trying to flee.
