Max Bemis Is Playing Say Anything's '...Is A Real Boy' In Its Entirety

Vans Warped Tour

Say Anything "kind of sort of" went into retirement in 2018 after releasing their last album OLIVER APPROPRIATE, but like Max Bemis predicted in his nine-page manifesto detailing the album and subsequent hiatus, the band is back...kind of, sort of.

On Tuesday (August 25), the band announced a special performance of its seminal album, 2004's ...Is A Real Boy. On September 8, at 7pm CST, Bemis will be playing the record in its entirety during an acoustic livestream. Tickets are on sale here and cost $14, with different options including a show poster and special t-shirt.

See. Say Anything's announcement below.

When Bemis broke news of Say Anything's hiatus two years ago, he wrote: "Our plans as a collective are to, kind of sort of, end Say Anything. Or ‘the first era of Say Anything.' Whatever you want to call it, it's that thing. I don't buy that s*** when other bands do it, but whatever the f*** works as terminology. I need a break. We'll return one day to play festivals and scoff at our career. But I want to say goodbye."

“Say Anything achieved its own goal. And I’m proud of that," he added. "My prediction is that I’m going to live a fulfilling, happy life with my family until my universal, all loving, all-inclusive spirit chooses to take me home.”
