City Narrows Police Chief's Position To Five

After receiving more than 50 applicants for Chief of Police, the city of Beaumont has narrowed its

list down to five finalists. Jason Plunkett, current assistant chief in Beaumont, Jeff Hardy, with

experience in Florida, Michigan, and Georgia, Kyra Joy Hope, from Michigan, Troy Price with

experience in Chicago and Vancouver, Washington, and Britta Steinbrenner, who has worked

for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office and Pepperdine University are the finalists to replace

Chief Jimmy Singletary, who is retiring. The public will have an opportunity to meet with the five

candidates on July 10th during a meet and greet at the Event Centre from 6:00 to 8:00. Each

candidate will be interviewed by the city the following day on July 11th.
