A Port Arthur man has been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison for firearm violations. 45 year old Ricky Shawn Thomas was arrested when four hand guns were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop. Two of the guns were reported stolen. Five pounds of marijuana and $40,000 were also found. Thomas, with seven previous convictions, is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 100 months this week by U.S. District Court Judge Marcia Crone.
